About Elia Barceló

Elia Barceló (born in Alicante in 1957) is a writer and professor of Hispanic Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, where she has been living since 1981. Her latest novels (El vuelo del Hipogrifo, El secreto del orfebre, Disfraces terribles published by Lengua de Trapo, and Corazón de Tango published by 451 Editores, as well as Las largas sombras published by Ambar) have been translated or are in the process of being translated into a dozen languages, including English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish. She has been receiving considerable international recognition, especially in Germany and the Netherlands. She has also published novels for young adults, numerous short stories, and an essay about Julio Cortázar.
