JL Merrow is not your typical English person – she refuses to drink tea. She studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge, where she decided she never wanted to see the inside of a lab again. While at Cambridge, she failed to master the art of punting one-handed while holding a glass of champagne, much to her regret. Although she writes across genres, her preference lies in contemporary gay romance and the paranormal, often infusing humor into her work. She has received recognition for her writing, with her novella Muscling Through being a 2013 EPIC Award finalist and her novel Slam! winning the 2013 Rainbow Award for Best LGBT Romantic Comedy. Her novel Relief Valve is also a finalist in the 2015 EPIC Awards.
