Who is Jack Mayer

Jack Mayer is a pediatrician and writer based in Middlebury, Vermont. He began his career in 1976 in the small town of Enosburg Falls, where he was the first pediatrician in half of the county. After ten years of practicing as a country doctor and conducting research on childhood cancer at Columbia University, Dr. Mayer returned to Vermont and established Rainbow Pediatrics in Middlebury. In addition to his medical career, he is also an Instructor in Pediatrics at the University of Vermont School of Medicine and an advisor for pre-medical students at Middlebury College. Throughout his career, Dr. Mayer has written short stories, poems, and essays, and has attended writing conferences. He has authored several books, including his first non-fiction work, “LIFE IN A JAR: The Irena Sendler Project” and his new historical fiction novel, “BEFORE THE COURT OF HEAVEN.” Dr. Mayer has received numerous awards and recognition for his writing, as well as for his contributions to the field of pediatrics. He currently resides in Middlebury, Vermont.
