Jane Louise Curry was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, on September 24, 1932. She is the daughter of William Jack Curry Jr. and Helen Margaret Curry. After growing up in Pennsylvania, Curry moved to Los Angeles, California, and London, England following her college graduation. She attended Pennsylvania State University and later Indiana State College before settling in California, working as an art teacher and freelance artist. Her academic pursuits led her to the University of California in Los Angeles and Stanford University, where she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in medieval English literature. In addition to her academic and writing achievements, Curry is also recognized for her artwork and has been exhibited in London. She has been an instructor and lecturer at the college level and is a member of various literary and author organizations. Curry is a prolific author, with over 30 novels to her name, delving into folklore, fantasy, historical fiction, and mystery genres.
