About Jeffrey Lent

Jeffrey Lent was born and raised in Vermont and western New York state, where he lived on dairy farms powered by draft horses. He studied Literature and Psychology at Franconia College in New Hampshire and SUNY Purchase. Lent later lived in North Carolina for many years, which he describes as an enriching and formative experience. He currently resides in central Vermont with his wife and two daughters. Lent’s novel In the Fall was a national bestseller, earning him a place in Barnes & Noble’s and Borders’ new writer programs, as well as being a New York Times Book Review Notable Book for 2000. His follow-up novel, Lost Nation, was well-received and also translated into multiple languages. Lent’s most recent novel is Before We Sleep.
