Who is Jirō Asada
Jirō Asada, born December 13, 1951 in Tokyo, is the pen name of Kōjirō Iwato, a prominent Japanese writer. His decision to enlist in the Japan Self-Defense Forces was inspired by Yukio Mishima, who attempted a coup d’état within the ranks of the SDF before ultimately committing suicide. Despite changing jobs multiple times in pursuit of literary opportunities and submitting his works to various competitions, Asada’s literary career truly began in 1991 with the publication of his novel Torarete tamaruka!
