About João Tordo
João Tordo was born in Lisbon in 1975 and graduated in Philosophy from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He is a highly acclaimed author, having won the prestigious José Saramago Literary Prize in 2009 with his novel “As Três Vidas”, which was also shortlisted for the Portugal Telecom Prize in Brazil. Throughout his career, he has been shortlisted for the Fernando Namora Literary Prize four times (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016) and twice for Best Novel at the Portuguese Author’s Society (2011 and 2015). In addition, he was shortlisted for the European Literary Award in 2012 and received the GQ Magazine Literature Prize in 2014. His novels have been published in numerous countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil. João Tordo has published a total of eleven novels and in 2017, he released “O Deslumbre de Cecilia Fluss”, the final volume of a trilogy.
