Biography John Hawks

John Hawks is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he has been teaching courses on topics ranging from biological anthropology to brain evolution since 2002. He obtained his B.S. in Anthropology from Kansas State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan. Additionally, he has authored a series of 24 lectures titled “The Rise of Humans: Great Scientific Debates,” which has been published by The Teaching Company, The Great Courses.
