Licenciada em Direito pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa (1976-81), a autora frequentou o Centro de Estudos Judiciários em 1983 e atuou como magistrada em diversas regiões de Portugal, incluindo Montemor-o-Novo, Torres Vedras e Cascais. Atualmente é magistrada na Procuradoria-Geral Distrital de Lisboa.
