About Matt Betts
I have been writing for many years and have been fortunate enough to have my work published in both print and online venues. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to contribute as a staff member for several magazines. As a big fan of pop culture, I have a deep love for all types of movies, even the bad ones. In 2013, my first book, Odd Men Out, was released by Dog Star Books, featuring elements of steampunk, alternate history, horror, and a giant lizard. Following that, I wrote Indelible Ink, an urban fantasy crime story paying homage to Elmore Leonard and the Dresden Files. In 2018, two of my novels were published: The adventurous kaiju/sci-fi book The Shadow Beneath the Waves, and the dark fantasy/comedy Indelible Ink. My cryptid novels include White Anvil: Sasquatch Onslaught and Skunk Ape Kingdom. My most recent book, Gone Where the Goblins Go, is a unique mashup of The Wizard of Oz and Apocalypse Now, and I have also written two books of speculative poetry. I thoroughly enjoy attending cons, where I have served as a panelist, moderator, invited guest, and presenter, as it allows me to interact with readers, writers, and creators.
Overall, Matt Betts’ books offer a compelling exploration of humanity’s capacity for both good and evil, while also delving into complex themes such as redemption, sacrifice, and the consequences of unchecked power. Through his engaging storytelling and intricate world-building, Betts challenges readers to contemplate the nature of morality and the role of individuals in shaping their own destinies. His works serve as a poignant reminder of the enduring struggle between light and darkness, and the enduring power of hope in the face of despair.
