Biography Nick Armbrister
Hello, my name is Nick Armbrister and I am from Manchester, England. I have a wide range of interests that influence my writing, including writing, reading, getting tattooed, listening to alternative/goth/metal/80s music, going to gigs, aviation, history, and being pagan. I have had a varied educational and professional background and have experienced many things in life, which has inspired my poetry and storytelling. I began my writing journey in April 1996, focusing on poetry and getting my first publication in November 1996 in The Pill, an Alanis Morrissette fanzine. Since then, I have been published in various mediums, including books, online platforms, and magazines. I started writing stories in the late 90s/early 00s and ventured into self-publishing after working with a professional editor on my first four books. I have released many varied books under my two names, Nick Armbrister and Jimmy Boom Semtex, covering topics such as aircraft, karate, erotica, ships, and more in both poetry and fiction. I have also collaborated with other authors and musicians and have performed at many open mic sets. I am currently working on new writing projects and have a dark poetry collection called Dark Delectable Delicious Destructive. My pen name, Jimmy Boom Semtex, focuses on erotica, war, aircraft, and contemporary topics and I am currently working on a new poem book called Picnic. My work can be found on various platforms, though some of my Jimmy Boom Semtex books are banned on Apple/iBooks/iTunes due to adult erotic content. I prefer real books over e-books but write both.
