Who is Piotr Setkiewicz

Born in 1963, he attended Jagiellonian University in Cracow where he studied history before earning his doctorate at Silesian University in 1999. His dissertation focused on IG Farben-Werk Auschwitz 1941-1945. He began his career at the Auschwitz Museum in 1988 and served as the head of the archives from 2001-2007 before becoming head of the research department in 2008. His research interests include the use of prisoners in German industry and the history of the Auschwitz sub-camps. In his free time, he enjoys music as a hobby.
