Biography Salar Abdoh
Abdoh was born in Iran and spent the first few years of his life in England before his family was forced to flee to the U.S. When he was fourteen, they arrived in America, but tragedy struck when his father passed away, leaving Abdoh and his siblings homeless in Los Angeles. After traveling around the country, Abdoh managed to earn his undergraduate degree from U.C. Berkeley and a Master’s from City College. Now, he is a creative writing teacher at The City College of New York.
