About Thomas Glave
Thomas Glave, a native of the Bronx, New York, and Kingston, Jamaica, is a highly acclaimed writer and activist. A two-time New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow, Glave is a graduate of both Bowdoin College and Brown University. His remarkable work has garnered numerous accolades, including the Lambda Literary Award in 2005 and an O. Henry Prize, making him the second gay African American writer, after James Baldwin, to receive this honor. Glave has also received a Fine Arts Center in Provincetown Fellowship and a Fulbright fellowship to Jamaica, where he actively worked on issues of social justice and played a pivotal role in founding the Jamaica Forum of Lesbians, All-Sexuals, and Gays.
