Biography William Coon
In early 2005, I had the opportunity to receive voice coaching from the talented Sandra McKnight as part of a pilot program for my job. Sandy was a fantastic coach, and I learned a lot from her. During one session, I jokingly mentioned that I should become a voiceover artist, to which Sandy responded with “Why not?” Later that year, a colleague introduced me to LibriVox, a site where volunteers submit recordings of works in the public domain. This led me to begin building my home studio and submitting recordings of classic short stories, which quickly turned into a passion. I found joy in recording well-written stories with great plot lines and interesting characters, and I also had the opportunity to play all the parts. I continued to receive coaching and encouragement from Jean Zaraour, upgraded my equipment and studio, and eventually met Rick Jackson, founder of Wonder Audio and Wonder Publishing Group. This meeting led me to become a regular narrator and improve my skills. In January 2010, I was excited to obtain a distribution contract with OverDrive, putting my work in a number of online retailers and making it available for purchase by public libraries. I am thrilled to share my audiobooks on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes, and I hope you enjoy the performances. I welcome your comments and feedback.
In conclusion, William Coon’s books offer a thought-provoking exploration of societal issues through the lens of his characters’ experiences. With a focus on themes of justice, power, and love, Coon’s narratives serve as a powerful tool for readers to confront and challenge their own ideological beliefs. Throughout his works, Coon raises important questions about morality and the human condition, ultimately prompting readers to reflect on the complexities of human behavior and the systems that govern our lives.
