Biography Yuri Herrera

Yuri Herrera was born in Actopan, Mexico in 1970 and has had an impressive academic journey, studying Politics in Mexico, Creative Writing in El Paso, and completing his PhD in literature at Berkeley. In 2015, his first novel to be published in English, Signs Preceding the End of the World, received widespread critical acclaim and was included in numerous Best-of-Year lists, winning the 2016 Best Translated Book Award. Currently, he is a professor at Tulane University in New Orleans.
