Rosalie Ham, originally from Jerilderie, NSW, Australia, completed her secondary education at St Margaret’s School, Berwick in 1972. After spending her twenties traveling and working in various jobs, including aged care, she completed a Bachelor of Education majoring in Drama and Literature at Deakin University in 1989, and a Master of Arts in Creative Writing at RMIT, Melbourne in 2007.
