Who is Johann Peter Eckermann
Johann Peter Eckermann, a German poet and author best known for his association with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, was born in Winsen in Hanover to humble parents. He grew up in poverty and deprivation, but after serving as a volunteer in the War of Liberation (1813-1814), he obtained a secretarial appointment under the war department at Hanover.
